Definition: "ESRB" stands for Entertainment Software Ratings Board. The ESRB is an independent non-profit organization that was founded in 1994 to analyze video game content and apply appropriate age ratings for violence, language, sexual references, etc. The ESRB also monitors video game advertising guidelines and enforces responsible privacy practices for online games.

The ESRB's ratings scale is EC ("Early Childhood"), E ("Everyone"), E10+ ("Everyone 10 and Up"), T ("Teen"), M ("Mature") and AO ("Adult Only"). Advertised games that haven't been analyzed are stamped with an "RP", which means "Rating Pending."
Examples:
Games that are rated "T" by the ESRB are appropriate for players age 13 and up.
