For as long as I've been playing video games, it's always seemed as if Japan got the really cool game releases. And despite the country's more humble showing in recent years, the tradition shows no signs of letting up. Proof: Japan's Nintendo 3DS eShop will be receiving Super Mario 2 and River City Ransom. No word on when either game will be coming here, if ever.
If you're a fan of Mario or platforming games in general, then you've probably played Super Mario Bros 2 at some point. River City Ransom is a touch more obscure, but no less compelling: It's an NES classic that combines side-scrolling beat-em-up gameplay with role-playing elements. It's also as funny and charming as heck.
River City Ransom was localized for the NES back in the day, and it also received a Game Boy Advance re-release some years later. It would be nice to hang with Crash and the Boys again...
