Alternative band The Shins recently launched a music video for The Rifle's Spiral, one of the songs off their newest album, Port of Morrow. If you have a Nintendo 3DS, you can grab the video from the Nintendo Video service, whereon it's made its exclusive debut.
Why, exactly, has the video for The Rifle's Spiral made its debut on the 3DS? When you see it, you'll know why. But here's a tiny spoiler: the video chronicles a battle between four magicians and a very special rabbit. The whole spectacle is animated in delightfully creepy stop-motion video (think "The Nightmare Before Christmas"), and was overseen by Jamie Caliri, an Emmy award-winning director. It looks lovely in 3D--and the song ain't bad, either.
Nintendo's YouTube channel has a "Making Of" video for those of us who are interested in peering into the guts of these kinds of productions.
The Rifle's Spiral music video will be an exclusive Nintendo Video download until Monday April 23.
